The concept is interesting on paper, but once this parable starts unfolding onscreen it teeters on the edge of pretentious and infuriating. If Aronofsky would have attempted this experiment in film school, it may have garnered some attention, but as two-plus-hour, star-laden Hollywood fare, it’s a bit too clever for its own good. Story: 2/10 | Performances: 6/10 | Directing: 6/10 Average Score: 4.6/10 The basic skeleton of Noah’s arc is here (both literally and figuratively), but interlaced are elements more aligned with science fiction or Lord of the Rings than they are with scripture....

What made you make the change? Gryffin: I, admittedly, wasn’t a good engineer, and I didn’t love it. I’ve been into music my whole life; I grew up playing the piano and guitar. I started piano when I was 7 years old and picked up the guitar when I was in middle school, and I was always into creating music, even in high school a little bit now that I think about it....
